“Winter’s calm”

Teign Estuary 04.01.20 Watercolour on canvas.  Drawn from a photograph I took when visiting my Mum.  Having lived in Devon in the 1980s I am very fond of this part of the U.K. and the beautiful coastline.

Untitled

“2020 - in Boris’ eyes”

Boris - A3 Painting in Acrylic paint.  Painted during lockdown for a Facebook competition and whilst ironically suffering with covid symptoms and at the time Boris went into hospital due to Covid!

“Magical Gardens of South Africa”

Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town Mixed media Acrylic and watercolour pencil on canvas.  Drawn from a photograph in a calendar.  South Africa 🇿🇦 and these gardens have a special place in my heart as I’ve been there on holiday and the gardens really are amazing.  The painting is just as I remember it, the mountains in the background and the lush green gardens blooming with colour in the foreground.  I painted this at a day art class in Berkshire.

Untitled

“Holly”

Watercolour on canvas.  Painted for family and to practise my portrait skills, as I was predominantly a landscape artist until recently.  Since taking a break during furlough from my normal work I’ve become more passionate about drawing people.

Untitled

“Karen”

My latest Portrait piece in pastel colour.  Painted as part of a Facebook group competition for fun.  I enjoyed doing this and found blending the pastels an effective way to create light and shade on the face.

Untitled

“The Great Protea”

Watercolour paint on board.  Painted from a photograph of Table Mountain, South Africa with the protea flowers added into the foreground.

Untitled

“Blackie”

Painting of “Blackie” - my friends’ dog in watercolour paint on canvas.

Untitled

“Grace”

An acrylic painting on canvas.  This has been finished 19.07.20 and is a present for my daughter Grace’s 18th birthday.
